The trick you suggested at the late AllBasic forum works! :)

I wonder if it won't eventually break anything in the legit installation and I'm keeping my fingers crossed to be able to rollback if it actually does.

XP is a ghost OS. If we can keep it walking the halls and continuing to scare people, all the better. Glad it is updating more than just the English versions of XP.

x86 Ubuntu is much < than XP.

Not sure why the BaCon Boys are so hot on a 32 bit OS. Linux has been 64 bit centric for years.
