The fiber connection was installed today but the old laptop I'm using as the server only has a 100 mbit network card. This limits my up/down to 90 mbits.
I couldn't use the default modem / router as it doesn't support static IPs. So this means I need to get a ethernet switch and router for my WIFI connections. I'm also going to have to buy a faster PC with a gigabit ethernet card.
This first round proof of concept will save me a lot of time doing it again on the new sever. Ubuntu also needed to be reconfigured to use static IPs and not its DHCP.
New Server arriving December 23. (Wednesday)
