As you know, SB was written by Peter Verhas. He moved on to be a Java guru in 2005 when I picked up the effort and made an official open source project from it. I have been covering the hosting as I do for the O2 project and contribute as much as I have time for.

Open source projects are successful when they're more than a one person effort. There has been some great contributions made to SB over the years from AIR, Charles, Dave and yourself.

Script BASIC has gotten me through some bad times when I needed a distraction. It's been a good friend.

Sorry JR,  I wasn't aware you only support dead BASIC languages with your includes. O2 is far from dead.

I didn't grab your includes. You posted a link to them here on the O2 forum. It wasn't until I asked if you could post your COM browsers as well did you do a 180 and started calling me an idiot.

That's a lie. You posted here on the O2 forum that you are no longer investing in the PowerBASIC compiler and moved on to the FreeBASIC compiler.

Say what you like. I'm tired of useless disputes. I'm not interested in your open source projects. If I ever write O2 code it will be freeware, not open source.

The first obsatical you need to overcome is these open source BASIC projects aren't mine and I'm merely a contributor to the projects.

and it doesn't matter how many times you will use the open source words.

The only thing that you have done for O2 is to host this forum and this is a disadvantage to achieve popularity.

Open source isn't about licences. (there are many variations) it's about how software gets written by a community effort.

Necroposting I know, but this statement was never addressed properly and it is intentionally misleading and it needs to be corrected for any newcomers who may stumble on O2.

Public Domain is Open Source and it is the most permissive of Open Source licenses.  The CC0 license is what most people will slap on Public Domain projects.  CC0 is also approved by the FSF (not that their approval is needed to make anything legal or binding). 

The false idea that Public Domain could not be Open Source was started by people who argued that you could not legally relinquish the copyright on something.  Since 1960, it has been considered established law that you can abandon your Copyright.  (Hampton v. Paramount Pictures, 279 F.2d 100 (9th Cir. Cal. 1960). 

There should be no confusion in the 21st century.
