This is really neat, etoys. Programming environment built on Squeak Smalltalk.

For history of smalltalk, take a look at this incredible video, it is a series of 3vids, but 2 and 3 are the actual demo way ahead of their time!
2 of 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hB3jQKGrJo0&feature=related
3 of 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3ZsiBMnGSg&feature=related

Sketchpad is the Ancestor to Smalltalk as is

Hopefully in a couple of years we will be programming like this with Oxygen!

One day it will squeak :)

The basics are all there in the examples. It is just a matter of creating a well-organised physics system and an interpretive language. Would anyone like to take some of this on?

We will award degrees  ;D

SmallTalk....pih
If you ask me this language is rubish. 8)
Just look into Libertybasic which is like his author says written in SmallTalk.
He by the tells that he is expert in OOP programming - pih
Truth is that he use some sort of GUI builder and create LB.
And ST use precompiled C classes (functions) for work.
So nothing build from the ground ::)

I think the concept is good. It would be nice to be able to click on an object, and reprogram its characteristics.

Think about the new generation, all the children and IT clerics who have missed out on the programming experience. It will give them an entry point. The hardcore programming continues behind the scenes.

Hi Peter, I believe this forum is stationed in California which is almost as far distant (on a logarithmic scale :) ). Have you tried splitting the media into 2 postings?

Hi Charles,

No, I have not. would be also the same thing. One of the file is small and the other file is big.
Could not become split into two parts. All together was it  3.8 MB. After six try, I gave up.

the smallest was 0.5 MB

What about your Christmas day? Have you got enough presents?
Did you have tears in your eyes at the celebration? Can you bring back your Christmas tree into the forest?

I hope you enjoy this Christmas days!

Actually the server is hosted by Site Genie in the USA.

Last time I checked, you are able to upload a 5 MB attachment. (10 MB max / post (4 attachments))

Let me or Charles know if your still having issues with attachment sizes. It would be great if you can link to large image files and only upload code/executables.

All the trees remained in the forest and not a single gnome was to be found anywhere (it was raining). The life of one turkey came to a abrupt end. 3 days of food were consumed in two hours. The Queen delivered her annual speech on the TV. at 3 o'clock.
