C To Basic(oxygen) translator
« on: December 29, 2013, 12:40:11 AM »
Idea and Charles work on C emiter is ok and fine for many things and i agree
BUT
what about C to Oxygen Basic translator ?
Oxygen Basic can use very well some C stayle of code so why not create
this type of translator and on this way spread interest for Oxygen Basic much more.
I'm hope that my idea is not to much stupid... ::)

Not stupid, but what I expected as your response.

Hey Charles, Aurel thinks your C emitter idea sucks and you should do a 180 and port everything to 32 bit O2. We should have talked to Aurel sooner.  :'(

Why everything what you say must be a lie ?
I don't say that C emitter sucks
and where you live....still 90% of windows software is 32bit and most windows users
don't care if program is 32 or 64, that is why i love Windows... :P

If you purchase the sarcasm upgrade for your translator, my comments won't sound like lies.  ::)

Why don't you grow up or do the O2 project a favour and remove yourself from this forum. Your negative attitude keeps others from contributing and joining.

Hi Aurel,

Porting C code to Oxygen Basic is fairly simple, since it already understands much of C. It might be worth looking at a translator, after we have the C emitter sorted out.

No, John is serious.  Aurel's trolling and personal attacks have been a major turn off for several of us and have kept several of us from joining the forums.  He has made several personal attacks against me on these forums, including calling me a dickhead and a lunatic.  On most forums this would be grounds for a permanent ban, but here if there are rules, they evidently do not apply to Aurel as he continues to get away with his behavior.  Which goes back to what John said about Aurel's behavior keeping people from joining and contributing.  His behavior needs to stop, one way or another.

The work John and Charles have done on C BASIC has finally brought me here and I do not plan on leaving, but I will not tolerate any abuse from Aurel.

RE: Double Buffering
And I'll tell you something else, this discussion has left a very bad taste in my mouth for Oxygen Basic.

It is an extremely schizophrenic language with no real identity of its own. I used to think Hot Basic was the most poorly designed language out there, but Oxygen beats it hands down

Oxygen supports a wide range of coding styles, more than is normally found in a BASIC implementation, and this makes it harder to trap errors, but I endeavour to keep the language coherent.

No, John is serious.

Aurel is a professional TROLL. He has mastered his craft on many forums leaving them as ghost towns of upset users. As long as Charles is willing to tolerate the abuse to his member base, the best we can do is just ignore Aurel and maybe over time he will just go away.

Thank you for trying to instigate something and reaffirming my words by doing so.

There are reasons he is banned from most forums. ;)  What is sad though, is you have at least two other forums that are complaining about his behavior on the OB forums.

I am in favour of free speech, but when a thread becomes destructive, it will be given a very short lifespan.

I think this benefits our community in the long term. I am not in favour of banning anyone.
