Here is where everyone is from that visited the O2 forum in the last 24 hours.,

OBJECTION!
The geotag Mr Spikowski quite understandably but nonetheless falsely attributes to Poland should in fact stick out of the neighboring Belarus, the country of my permanent residence over the recent 50 years, a beautiful land of 10,000 lakes and rivers whose fortresses and castles are probably twice as old as the US oldest artifact, and that can easily host the entire Great Britain w/o Northern Ireland, or Portugal and Hungary taken together, or five Netherlands or Denmarks at your own option. :)

@chrisc:
I second that! Pictures of Krakow are like glimpses of a fairyland. Notably, there are over 200K students in this Polish city alone, and its universities date back to the beginning of 2nd millennium. :)

@edcronos:
The first two pictures look heavenly, but the two trailing ones don't look welcome at all. :-\ But I guess this is a curse of every other overpopulated area in the world... Belarus' entire population is a little over 9M people which I guess would be quite close to Rio and its satellites.

Charles,
Which geotag of the two British ones is actually yours? :)

Jose,
!!! I LOVE IT !!! :D
My ex-wife runs a small business in Barcelona and she's been inviting me to come and stay there for some time in the summer. I was somewhat hesitant (that's not just two blocks away from my door, after all) but now I think I'll accept her invitation, if only to be able to taste the 100% original fine cookery your compatriots have to offer. :)

It doesn't get much better than that.

Home sweet home... Howdy Charles, I'm seeing you in the window! :)

John,
I'm sure you could fascinate us with a picture or two of those magnificent snowy peaks across the bay that must be seen from your location? :)

I can be in the mountains skiing or in the rain forest or the desert all within a 100 miles radius. There are 8 fresh water lakes on the island.I have flown around the tip of Mt.. Baker in a Cessna 172 more times than I have fingers. Flying over a pod of Orca whales at 500 ft. is fun.
Or stay where I am and go sailing in the sound.

But then, probably you'll never see a reason why you should ever go any place else beyond your truly Jurassic Park of a residence? :)

Thanks guys! Aren't those early spring flowers beautiful? It was still -14oC (7oF) here last night. :(
Karen, are those sunflower seeds I'm seeing that you feed your birds with? Pan-fried, they are a popular Eastern European snack. There would be at least a half dozen brands of them on sale in any local foodstore. :)

-14 C is cold and we are having -6 C last night. Where are you located?
Eastern European snacks, they look like Russian words to me. How did you paste these images on the forum's post?
I tried to use Insert Image and copied it to the post, but it turns up blank
I could only use the attachment option to attach a picture. This picture was taken on Mar 14, 2018 and it was
still wintry. Today's weather is better and hopefully it is kept this way for the rest of the week.
Regards
Karen

OxygenBasic seems to be gaining interest from the BASIC compiler community.

Hi Karen,
Splendid Mike
-14 C is cold and we are having -6 C last night. Where are you located?
This mystery is easy to resolve (http://www.oxygenbasic.org/forum/index.php?topic=1574.msg17102#msg17102). :)
How did you paste these images on the forum's post?
You can only post images full size if they are located on some other server, by enclosing the image link in the [ img ][ /img ] tags that your Mona Lisa button would provide in your full message editor.
Message attachments including images, zips, etc. would only be available for 90 days upon posting and would then be deleted automatically to keep the site bandwidth and its server disk footprint low.
Jak sie nazywa ten piekny ptak ktory odwiedzil moj balkon dzisiaj ?
(Polish::English: What is the name of this beautiful bird that visited my balcony today?)
Ten piękny ptak, który odwiedził balkon szanowanego Pana, najprawdopodobniej nazywał się Periparus ater britannicus, lyb sosnówka. Charles nazwie go "coal tit", a ja nazwę go "moskówka" ("москòвка").
(Pol::Eng: The beautiful bird that visited the balcony of the respectable sir would be most probably called Periparus ater britannicus , or a tit. Charles would call it "coal tit" and I would call it "moskòwka" ("москòвка")) :)

Good to see some O2 in those PB sails.
Keep the momentum going folks.
-
It is interesting that 75% of visits to the O2 forum are based on referrals from other sites. 23% are direct access with 2% from search engines.,
-
It looks like O2 might use a little of dedicated SEO, doesn't it? :D
-
A few keywords would help.
Google is showing 31.5K indexes for oxygenbasic.org.
-
Google should show oxygenbasic.org at the top of the page whenever somebody searches for oxygen(e). :D
-
Oxygen and Basic are popular keywords.
The 31.5K indexes are what Google has built via its spiders crawling the oxygenbasic.org site.
-
64 forum members. A little bit for everyone. :)

We are averaging just over 500 forum page views / day this month. Let's keep the momentum going.

We all need a place to vent and a constant flow of newbies to run through our O2 boot camp. Not all graduate.

We don't want to put people off joining the forum. I value every participant, and they all influence o2 development in some way.
-
I'm interested in programming not silly little girl drama whining that has been demonstrated by the above forum members. These people need to grow up and start acting like adults.
-
I think that John is only interested in O2 as a tool to enhance SB. Notice that he only posts SB code, never O2 code. He only wants skilled programmers, not novices, but skilled programmers are already using other languages and tools and it is very hard to convince them to switch.
-
My interest is merging two outstanding BASIC languages. Ease of use with access to ASM and C extensions when appropriate is the goal.

I have NEVER seen one line of O2 code coming from you José.
I don't modify Linux kernel code but use the OS as my default. DLLC is Charles's creation and is maintained by him. I only use it and provide testing.
-
> I have NEVER seen one line of O2 code coming from you José.
And probably you will never see it, at least in this forum. I registered only because Charles said that he was going to release the first beta version. Without it and, above all, good documentation, I'm not going to do anything. But you say that you want to promote O2, a language that you don't use (using a DLL written in O2 to enhance SB does not qualify you as an O2 programmer; otherwise, I could say that I'm a C++ programmer because I use C++ DLLs) and your only "apportation" is to kick out every novice that has the audacity of posting. It should be Charles, not you, who will decide if he wants to spend his time with these novices or not and he has clearly said several times, against your wishes, that he welcomes them. Charles is not your prisonner.

These members left the O2 forum on their own free will. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.
-
If you're not willing to invest in O2 due to its infancy, why do you throw newbies over the cliff promoting they use it?
-
You mentioned I have been ban from other forums. I don't participate in anything where I'm forced to walk on my knees.
-
> These members left the O2 forum on their own free will. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.
After being menaced and mocked.
> You mentioned I have been ban from other forums. I don't participate in anything where I'm forced to walk on my knees.
You have been banned in other forums for behaving like a troll and spamming them with posts about ScriptBasic, like you're doing here. Anyone interested can do a search for "ScriptBasic" in, e.g. the FreeBasic forum.
> If you're not willing to invest in O2 due to its infancy, why do you throw newbies over the cliff promoting they use it?
I'm neither promoting, nor advising against its use. I have a great respect for Charles since many years ago and I'm interested in what he does.
-
If you had any idea what an open source project is about, you wouldn't be making these ridiculous remarks. Your problem is you've been a Zale zombie for so long and bitter all your work was for nothing that you're looking for someone else to blame.
My efforts work and continue to show promise.

-
John,
Your efforts may work but only as long as you have an audience to perform in front of. You're very near losing it here for good.
I could have banned your "John" self for at least a month for what you've been doing here in recent 48 hours. But your other self will undoubtedly roll back my action and thus nullify its educative potential. So, if you don't stop your SB spam and never-ending harshness towards your fellow forumers, you will see me go. This place is becoming too stifling, Oxygen or whatever.
-
So if any of the other spammers like EZGUI, Brian's BASIC or anyone else trying to utilize O2's JIT features will be ban as well?
Please inform me what I'm doing and others aren't.
-
EZGUI is a potential user of O2 and Brian is an actual user of O2, and both have a professional interest in it. Other forum members like Peter, or Aurel, or Roland, or I have at least a hobbyist interest in O2 and do some occasional programming in it.
Script BASIC has no direct relation to OxygenBasic yet it is the second major "subject" on this site -- though of course not in its every topic, as some of the shorter-lived passers-by used to claim here before going away to flood somebody else's forums. Lack of self-discipline is what all the ban candidates usually share.
-
Amazing, simply amazing! It was John who asked for a free copy of EZGUI, who started the EZGUI thread and who keeps asking Chris if he has given up...
-
No direct connection?
I have been working with Charles for years refining DLLC. Charles has a huge investment of his time in SB.
If I'm not wanted here, I have plenty of other things to do.
-

In open source terms, that's what called facilitating a project beside the hard costs I contribute month after month.
-
What is amazing is that you started it, not Chris, and now you say "So if any of the other spammers like EZGUI [...]."
-
My point was calling SB spam is like calling someone a niger. There has been a huge effort by multiple contributors (including Charles) and has been production stable since 2003. I don't know of a better scripting language based on the BASIC dialect.
I didn't write Script BASIC, but I have serious ownership in the project.
-
> beside the hard costs I contribute month after month
How much costs to host a forum? I have googled for it and, coincidentally, the first one that I have found is based in London: https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/web-hosting/compare-hosting/
-
> My point was calling SB spam is like calling someone a niger.
But you already have a forum devoted entirely to ScriptBasic, although it has little traffic, and another, "All Basic", devoted to all kind of Basic's...
When somebody posts here a question about O2, isn't useful at all that you post a SB script. What would you think if I did the same and posted PowerBasic of FreeBasic code? We aren't calling SB spam, what we are saying is that you are spamming this forum.
If I were intererested in SB, I will register in the SB forum.
-
I will contain my posts to the DLLC sub-board when a SB / O2 question comes up.
-

We are not talking about you and Charles, we're talking about SB and O2. Or rather SB vs. O2. There seems to be too much of the former here -- to the extent where the primary purpose of this forum tends to become obscure. Imagine Eros coming here only to post daily snippets of his interpretative thinBasic code under a pretense of having thinOxygen bundled with his product. Can you? I can't, because it's only too obvious for me (and Eros, for that matter) that interpretation techniques can almost never aid a machine code compiler or teach it a lesson or two. So how can your SB elaborations help the O2 developer or user's immediate needs?
I will contain my posts to the DLLC sub-board when a SB / O2 question comes up.
Thank you. This is the minimum you could do to bring the situation back to a tolerable level.
